I’ve already alluded to this in previous posts, but I want to take a moment to highlight an event I’ll be doing this coming June, the Hyannis Port Best Buddies challenge. I’m going to raise (at least) $2,000 to support Best Buddies and the work they do to support those with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). It’s a century ride; 100 miles in one day. That’s going to be a long time in the saddle!
The IDD community that Best Buddies serves includes, but is not limited to, people with Down Syndrome, Autism, Fragile X, Williams Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and more. It’s a part of our community that is often under served, and a lot of the folks who suffer from IDDs feel isolated and unsupported. I’m proud to be contributing to this cause.
I pledged to match donations made in the month of January*, and so far that’s added up to $300 worth of contributions. Y’all know how to make me write a check…! I haven’t hit my maximum pledge yet, so if you want me to dig a little deeper, please consider clicking here to contribute.
Many thanks in advance,
* Up to $500 total
