Last year, I prepared a pretty extensive recap from my first running of Reach the Beach. This year, not so much. I am pressed for time, as I will be driving to New York after work on Thursday to run Ragnar Adirondacks. Back to back 200 mile relays? Apparently… yes! So now I’m blogging from my phone, writing this when I have spare time. Please pardon the brevity. I’ve blogged from my phone before, but it’s been a long time.
I was invited to run with last year’s team, but then that fell apart. I hunted around for a team with anyone I knew on it, but couldn’t find one. I hit up the Facebook event page, and found a team, Easier Said Than Run. Here is part of the team early Friday morning.
That’s the start of leg 4… 2.9 miles of downhill running with 675 feet of drop. I took advantage of that mountain and ran as hard as I could, finishing my leg in under 21 minutes. Clocked my fastest mile ever at 6:38. FUN.
I enjoyed being in van one. Nataleigh, Walter, Sean, and Brad were a great group. Most fun was when Claire brought coffee and Eleanor to transition area 26.
